8vo., 207pp. Beautiful Stated First Printing of this Civil War spy novel. Bound in pebbled red cloth with titles stamped in gilt on front board and spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with a hint of a bump to the heel and a small crinkle in the spine cloth. Remarkably fresh and bright. Gorgeous unclipped wrap-around dust-jacket, ($2.50 on bottom center of front flap), has some tiny nicks at the tips and hinge corners and fairly mild rubbing to the hinges themselves. Still remarkably well preserved. . A stunning collectable copy of a very scarce title particularly in such high-grade. (Hubin p.74).
