8vo.,289pp. Gorgeous First US Edition with no other printings listed as called for by Stokes. Originally published in the UK under the Herbert Jenkins imprint earlier the same year. Bound in red cloth with titles stamped in black on front board and spine. Square tight and clean throughout with little or no wear. Perhaps a hint at the heel but barely. Some minor spotting on outer page edges. Neat, dated, (1917), gift inscription on front end-paper. Remarkably well-preserved. Beautiful 3/4 wraparound pictorial jacket is unclipped, though unpriced ($1.45 on the rear panel), has some mild soiling and a few short closed tears. A couple of tiny nicks and rubbing to folds. A bit of ink off-set on the front flap from the gift inscription. Still fresh, bright, complete and very scarce in any condition. A simply stunning collectable copy.
