8vo., 294pp. Beautiful Stated First Printing, originally published in France in 1932. Psychological mystery involving the suicide of a mysterious women in a provincial French village. Bound in publisher's original black cloth with titles stamped in gilt on spine and front board. Red top-stain. Square, tight and clean throughout with a touch of bumping to spine ends. No interior foxing or toning. Heel gilt a bit faded. Very attractive Art-Deco unclipped dust-jacket, ($2.50 in the middle of the front flap) has some fairly mild wear to spine ends and tips. Small chip from the bottom of the rear hinge. 1" split in the top front fold. Still fresh and bright and difficult to find, particularly in nice condition. A very pretty collectable copy of an uncommon edition. (Not in Hubin).
