Bound by Brentano's of New York, (signed on verso of front end-paper), in three-quarter dark brown morocco over maroon linen-covered boards. Gilt ruled. Raised bands. with gilt-stamped spine titles. Marbled end-papers. Tissue guarded frontis illustration. Illustrated half-title and title pages as well as chapter head-pieces and tail pieces. Square, tight and clean throughout with very light interior page-edge toning. Spine ends, hinges and tips mildly rubbed. Front end-paper split at hinge about a third but firm. Small dog-ear on fly-leaf that is torn and fragile, but holding. A most handsome collectable copy and a fairly uncommon edition.
