Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1935. First U.S. Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine / Very Good Plus. Item #011294
8vo., 254pp. Beautiful First American Edition, published by Hodder & Stoughton in the UK the same year. Bound in publisher's green cloth with titles and decoration in black on front board and spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with very minor toning and wear to spine ends. Small number "3" in the corner of the front paste-down. Very attractive unclipped dust-jacket , ($2.50), has some wear to edges and corners with some nicks to the spine ends. Rear panel mildly toned. Still fresh and bright with no tears or creases. A very pretty collectable copy. The British first is quite common but this US edition is very uncommon and quite scarce in dust-jacket with no other copies currently available. (Hubin, p.55).
