8vo., 308pp.. Sharp First Edition of this Farrel' first book and the first in the Lonigan trilogy. Bound in publisher's brown cloth with printed titles on paper labels on front board and spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with a hint of page toning. Mild wear to spine ends and tips. Faint scratch to rear board. Spine panel slightly toned. Small spot on rear board that looks like perhaps a jacket remnant, (or wax?), was affixed. Ownership signature on front end-paper. From the library of noted New Jersey Irish-Ameican author, collector and professor of Irish history and literature, Tom Fox, with his unobtrusive blind-stamp on the half-title page. Fox was called by Nicholas Basbanes, ",,, a kindred spirit...assembler of an uncommonly distinctive collection of Irish history and literature". Not perfect but a respectable collectable copy at a great price.
