Double-column text. Square and tight with solid joints. and Little if any edge-toning. Some foxing on the end-papers but other than an errant scattered spot, a clean interior. Some wear to the spine ends with just a bit of loss to the cloth. A touch of wear and bumping to tips. Spine mildly toned but gilt still quite fresh and bright. Ownership signature and date, in the year of publication, pleasingly written on the front end-paper. A very pretty and solid collectable copy of an important milestone in Detective Fiction, a Haycraft/Queen Cornerstone, and at a very agreeable price. (Hubin p.88), (Gasson p.107).
