Five volumes complete 4to., 1316pp, 1245pp, 1483pp, 1490pp, 1711pp. Sharp Second Printing of the first three volumes and First Printing of the quite uncommon two volumes of Women's Writing. Enormous and enormously comprehensive, survey of Irish writing through the ages. Bound in light blue and navy respectively with titles in gilt. Square, tight and clean throughout with little or no wear. Perhaps a touch at the crowns but quite minor. Very well preserved for such large volumes. The first three volumes come with a publisher's slipcase which has s small bump on the top left edge. From the library of noted New Jersey Irish-Ameican author, collector and professor of Irish history and literature, Tom Fox, with his small neat signature on the front paste-down of the first three volumes and unobtrusive blind-stamp on the half-title page of volume IV. Fox was called by Nicholas Basbanes, ",,, a kindred spirit...assembler of an uncommonly distinctive collection of Irish history and literature". A beautiful collectable copy and very difficult to find all five volumes together. Please note: As this is a very heavy set, International and Priority orders will require additional postage.
