Shoulder Strap. First Edition. Two volumes, 4to.,v-xiii, 500pp. + v-xi, 486pp. Green cloth with gilt titles and illustrations on the front covers. Frontis portrait in each volume. Numerous illustrations and maps, some fold-out. Square, tight and clean throughout with strong joints, no foxing and little if any toning. There is a previous owner's signature and date that has been covered up with a marker on the front end-paper of each volume. Some fairly mild wear to spine ends and tips. Spotting to the cloth, mostly on volume II. A pleasing set. Not perfect, but solid and collectable and at a great price.
