Sharp "New Edition", the sixth edition overall and First Edition from this publisher. 7" x 4.5", [xi] (2)336pp plus 57pp. appendix and 3pp publisher's ads. Charts and diagrams throughout. Bound in full brown tree calf. Expertly re-backed with later, though certainly not modern calf with black cloth spine label. 6 compartments with titles in gilt in C2 and all 7 bands in gilt. Square and tight with fairly minor wear to edges and tips. Some fairly mild toning to interior page edges. Scattered quite minor foxing to a few edges here and there but nothing affecting text and primarily relegated to the prelims. Contemporary ownership signature on ffep which is neatly 1/3 split at the inner margin but still quite secure. A very pretty collectable copy of a fairly uncommon printing, especially in this condition. (Gabler, p272).
