8vo., 463pp. Beautiful First Illustrated Edition after the original was published in 1891, Undated but likely 1914 given publication dates of titles listed on rear panel. Bound in brown cloth with titles stamped in gilt on front board and spine. Illustrated by John Duncan with tipped in full-color plates tipped in on tissue-guarded captioned pages. Square, solid and clean throughout with little wear save some minor bumping to spine ends. Equally attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($1.75 net on spine panel), has some tiny nicks and chips along edges, spine ends and tips. Still quite fresh and bright and scarce in any condition. A gorgeous collectabe copy.
