Don't Go Away Mad and Other Plays (Review Copy and copy of writer and critic Thomas Quinn Curtiss)

New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1949. 1st Edition. Cloth. Near Fine / Near Fine. Item #010260

8vo., 238pp. Beautiful Stated First Edition bound in light blue cloth with titles in navy on spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with just a touch of wear to spine ends and a gentle bump on the rear top edge. Equally attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($3.75), has a lightly toned spine and a touch of edge-wear but quite minor. Small date on top corner. Fresh and bright with no chipping, creases or tears. Advance Review Copy with a tipped-in slip noting the release date and price. Also, laid in is a slip from the New York Times Book Review soliciting comments from the reviewer. Lastly, laid in is another slip from the NYT Book Review, though different, in form, naming the reviewer, Thomas Quinn Curtiss, (1915-2000), and naming another title for his review. Quinn was a writer and film and theater critic best known for writing the script for the 1973 screen adaptation of Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh. A very pretty collectable copy at a great price.
