Les Albums des Guides Bleus (35 Volume Collection)
Paris: Hachette. 1st Edition. Soft cover. Fine / Very Good. Item #014557
A beautiful collection of this colorful and informative series, a fully illustrated companion to the immensely popular travel guide series, Les Guides Bleus. Included is pretty much all of the regions of France though missing Paris, as well as several Middle Eastern and European countries. Published by Hachette in the late 50's to early 60's, all volumes are bound in dark navy cloth with gilt titling on spine and upper board. Loaded with full-page b&w and color photos. Text in French. 128pp.each. All are square, tight and generally clean throughout with little or no wear. Most volumes have a contemporary ownership signature and date in pencil on the front end-paper that can easily be erased if desired. Pretty much all of them also have a price sticker ghost or remnant on the front end-paper that periodically has left the paper slightly abraded. Unclipped, though unpriced, dust-jackets have modest edge-wear and rubbing to folds and tips. Most have a slightly toned spine. Other than Venice, which has some chips and closed tears, they are all generally fresh and bright with no creases, chipping or tears. Most of these would retail for $25- $75 each and are far less common on this side of the Atlantic. A very pretty collectable copy at a great price.
Price: $350.00
