The Prince of Peril (Signed First Edition)

Chicago: A.C. McClurg, 1930. 1st Edition. Cloth. Near Fine / Very Good Plus. Item #016757

8vo., 358pp. Beautiful Stated First Edition of the second book in the Grandon of Venus series. Originally serialized in the Argosy pulp earlier the same year. Bound in green cloth with titles stamped in black on front board and spine. Front board with blind-stamped border. Square, tight and clean throughout with no interior toning or foxing. Gentle bumping to spine ends and a couple of tips. Mild toning to top edge and crown and a spot at the heel. A very-preserved example. Sharp, unclipped dust-jacket, ($2.00), has some mild edge-wear and a couple of tiny closed edge-tears reinforced with a thin strip of tape at the top edge and heel. Unnoticeable from the front and likely unnecessary. Spine toning. Mild rubbing to folds. Light soiling on rear panel. Still quite fresh and bright with no chipping or creases. Generically inscribed and signed by the author on the front end-paper, "Best wishes, Otis Adelbert kline". A very pretty collectable copy and very uncommonly signed. (ISFDB, Currey, p.251).
