8vo, 255pp. Beautiful FirstEdition. The American First Edition was published later in 1960 by Knopf. Bound in forest green cloth with lettering in gilt on spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with little or no wear save a hint of rubbing at the tips but quite trivial. Spine ends have a bit of toning but no toning or foxing to pages. Equally attractive unclipped dust-jacket, (15s. net), has a couple of tiny chips at the crown and mild rubbing to the heel. Spine panel has a hint of toning. Still fresh and bright with no creases or tears. A very pretty collectable copy of the author's third collection of stories and uncommon in such nice condition.
