Square, tight and generally clean throughout. Some light scattered spotting but very mild toning. Wear to the spine ends and tips with a small bit of loss to cloth. 1/2" splits to the hinges at the crown. Mild surface toning and soiling. Contemporary ownership signature pleasingly written on the front end-paper and title page A very pretty and solid collectable copy of an important milestone in Detective Fiction, a Haycraft/Queen Cornerstone, and at a very agreeable price.
