8vo.,293pp. Beautiful Stated First Edition of the 6th and last of the iconic Lensman series. in Currey's binding "A" with blue cloth boards with titles in gilt on spine. #369 of only 500 numbered copies signed by the author. Square, tight and clean throughout save some fairly mild off-setting to end-papers. Mild edge-wear and surface rubbing. Titles on spine a bit dulled. Gorgeous unclipped dust-jacket, ($3.00), has just a touch of rubbing to edges. Fresh and bright with no chipping, creases, toning or tears. Inscribed and signed by the author on the limitation page, "To my friend of old, Charles R. Tanner. A guy whom I am mighty glad to have known & with high esteem -- Doc (Edward E. Smith, Ph.D.)". Charles R. Tanner (1896-1974), was the well regarded science fiction writer who notably penned the story, "The Color of Space" and the creator of the character Tumithak.
