8vo., 243pp. Share First Edition with no other printing listed as called for. Bound in gray cloth with lettering against a brown background on spine and front board. Square, tight and clean throughout with no page toning. A touch of softness to spine ends but little other wear. Some spotting to the top board edges and dust-soiling to the top of the text block. Very attractive unclipped dust jacket, ($2.50), has some tiny nicks and closed edge-tears. Mild rubbing. Small red "June 7" on the top of the front flap. Still fresh and bright and quite presentable. Review slip laid in. Maid into the 1950 film of the same name starring Kirk Douglas, Lauren Bacall, Doris Day and directed by Michael Curtiz. Baker also assisted in the writing of the screenplay. A very pretty collectable copy of the author's first novel and at a great price.
