Bordered in gilt. 5 raised bands on spine blocked in gilt with gilt titles in 2nd and 3rd compartments and date at the bottom. Floral design in all other compartments. vTop edge gilt. Marbled end-papers. Illustrated with 100 engravings on steel and wood. Square and tight with strong hinges. Rubbing to hinges and extremities. 1.5" round stain on front board. Some scuffing to leather. Moderate scattered foxing and toning. Particularly on the reverse of the full page engravings but images themselves are largely unblemished. A handsome collectable copy at a great price.
