This copy beautifully bound with Chelton College School gold heraldic seal on the front board. Full red morocco edged in gilt. Five raised bands with lettering in gilt upon a black leather label in 2nd compartment. Gilt borders and decoration in all other compartments. Marbled fore-edges and end-papers. Illustrated with full-page maps and portraits of the commanders and politicians of the time. Binding is square and tight with little or no edge-wear. Some mild surface rubbing. Gilt bright and complete. Prize bookplate on front paste-down. Some very light scattered foxing to prelims and a few spots here and there on reverse of the illustration plates. Pages are largely unblemished. Very well-preserved. A sound, very handsome, collectable copy.
