Snoot if You Must (Signed First Edition)

New York CIty: D. Appleton - Century Company, 1943. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fine / Near Fine. Item #018567

8vo., 296pp. Beautiful First Edition, First Printing with the (1) on the last page of text as called for by this publisher. Beebe's anthology of anecdotes of whatever caught his attention in the then pop culture of the time. A reporter for the New York Tribune, Beebe is remembered most notably for "The Stork Club Bar Book". Bound in blue cloth with lettering in gilt on spine. Humorous illustrations throughout by Rea Irvin. Square, tight and clean throughout with little or no wear. Perhaps a hint of page toning but barely. Some off-setting to gutters of the paste downs. Bookseller ticket on rear paste-down. Remarkably well-preserved. Very pretty Art Deco clipped dust-jacket has chipping to the crown and front tips. But is still incredibly fresh and bright with no creases, toning or tears. Signed by the author on a affixed presentation bookplate on the front paste-down. A gorgeous collectable copy of an uncommon title in any condition.
