Laid in is a hand-written note from the illustrator, Robert Arrington, to noted Sci-Fi Collector and Rare Book Librarian at the Philadelphia Free Library, Frank M. Halpern. The note discusses some of Arrington's artwork and how it may be obtained. The original mailing envelope is affixed to the front paste-down. Also laid in is a typed note, signed by author and publisher Donald Grant, as "Don", also to Frank Halpern, discussing that he will be shipping the current volume "...once it arrive from the bindery".
