Solid "Second and Cheaper Edition" but 1940 is listed as the copyright for this printing and evidently it was actually published in 1953, (ISFDB; Holroyd, p.424). 2' cover price. Like the date and printing description is from one of the Methuen hardcover reprints. Square and solid with mild page toning and a small bookstore stamp on the bottom of the front end-paper. Moderate surface and edge-wear. Still fresh and bright with no chipping or tears. A very pretty collectable copy of an uncommon title, especially on this side of the Atlantic.
