Square, tight and clean throughout with little or no wear. A hint of toning along top edges but barely. Equally attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($17.50), has mildly toned flap edges and some mild edge-wear. A minuscule closed edge-tear that is barely noticeable if at all. Fresh and bright. Inscribed, signed and dated by Nixon directly on the half-title page. "To John Barelli, with best wishes from Richard Nixon. 11-7-84'. John Barelli was Chief Security Officer of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for 40 years before retiring in 2016. He is also notable for publishing "Stealing the Show: A History of Art and Crime in Six Thefts" , detailing historical thefts at the MET. He got to know Nixon during a visit to the museum.
