12mo., 253pp. Beautiful "Copyright" Edition. Not dated but c. early 1930's. Originally published in1899. Bound in maroon cloth with titles in gilt on spine and publisher's logo in gilt on front board. The Readers Library was an imprint of Gerald Duckworth and Company, reprinting classics from between 1910 and 1927, re-launching as the New Readers Library in 1927 and publishing through 1946. Square, tight and clean throughout with some very mild page toning and some light spotting to the prelims. Little wear. Very well-preserved. Sharp unclipped, though unpriced, dust-jacket, has some soiling to the spine panel but is l fresh and bright with no creases. chipping or tears and quite scarce in any condition. A gorgeous collectable copy and quite uncommon. (Hubin, p.206).
